What is a craft distillery? According to the American Craft Spirits Association, a craft distillery values the importance of transparency and remains forthcoming regarding their ingredients, distilling systems, bottling locations, processes, and aging process. Additionally, a craft distillery produces fewer than 750,000 gallons annually and is independently owned and operated with more than 75% equity stake in their company and control. In a nutshell, there are many of them these days and all are lovely places to visit. Some are considered a grain to glass operation, while others include farm-raised meals in their on-site restaurants. Consuming whiskey is no longer only about the cocktail, but also the experience of getting on the road and discovering what makes it all happen. Maybe most of all, it is about the people. The people who make it and also those who you share it with. I think it is fair to say that I have met some of the nicest people in my life since starting this journey with theBAR2GO.
